Fighting Imps Fall Short, 2-1, at Billings
|
The Billings Polar Bears and Ithaca Fighting Imps put on a pitchers' duel.
Billings Polar Bears starter Jerry Bishop turned in an exceptional performance against the Ithaca Fighting Imps at The Igloo, resulting in a Billings win, 2-1. Bishop, now 1-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Richard Kinmont recorded the save, his 9th.
Alco Bade aided the Billings cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"We put together a nice win," Bishop said.
The last-place Polar Bears now have a win-loss record of 10-15.
