Thunder Hawks Roll Over Saboteurs, 9-3
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topped the Toledo Saboteurs, 9-3, in USSL Double A action at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Ft. Polk South pitcher and Prophetstown, Illinois, native Vicente Valentín. Valentín, now 5-5, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. With the win, Ft. Polk South has a record of 54-47. Toledo falls to 50-51.
Norberto Carrillo hit a bases-clearing triple off Cheslav Adaikin in the bottom of the third, which put the Thunder Hawks in front, 3-0. Carrillo had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
