The Gulf Coast Turbeaus had to overcome a fine performance from Ottawa pitcher George Taylor to grab a 2-1 win at Mobile Home Park. Taylor allowed 2 runs over 8 innings. The Turbeaus saw their record improve to 46-51.

Alonso Rivera was 1-2 for Gulf Coast. The 22-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off George Taylor. It was his 28th RBI of the season.

Rivera attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
