Miguel Quintana did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Squirrel Hill Pierogis from losing, 6-3, to the Ottawa Fat Cats at Nationals Park. Quintana went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ottawa pitcher Domingo Rovlaz got the win. He's now 1-4. Eugene Ingram was tagged with the loss. Justin Davis sewed up the save, his 1st.
Bill Jones chipped in for Ottawa with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
In comments to the Ottawa Gazette, Jones insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
With the win, Ottawa goes to 43-52, while the Pierogis fall to 42-53.
