The Ottawa Fat Cats beat the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 3-2. Ottawa pitcher and Los Angeles, California, native Gerald Jones led the way. Justin Davis snagged the win in relief. In 2.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 2-0 on the season. At 34-41, the Fat Cats claim 7th place in the Silver AA.

Had Terry Edwards not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Edwards hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Fat Cats.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Jones said.
