Turbeaus Lose Late, 6-4
|
A 4-RBI performance from Nelson Ríos helped the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks beat the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 6-4. Dylan Ziersch earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 4-1. Lloyd Anderson recorded his 16th save for Ft. Polk South.
Ríos had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch changeup from Mario Noceda, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Thunder Hawks a 6-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Ríos.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Ríos said.
With this game in the books, Ft. Polk South is 36-31, Gulf Coast 32-35.
