The Marquette Miners and Yakima Hops put on a pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring contest, Marquette pitcher Dermott Kalman was marvelous in his team's 2-1 win. Trevor Covenay earned the save, his 17th, for the Miners.
Weldon Gentry broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fourth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Miners in front, 2-1. For the game, Gentry drew 1 walk in 3 trips to the plate.
"We found a way to get it done," Kalman said.
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Marquette.
