McGregor in Cruise Control in 8-0 Win
|
Tacoma picked up a win at Ballpark of Tacoma, toppling the Ottawa Fat Cats, 8-0. Pitcher Todd McGregor was one of the reasons the Fur Traders triumphed. Tacoma's record now stands at 27-31, placing them 6th in the Silver AA.
McGregor, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 5 in 8 innings and gave up no runs.
McGregor moves to 4-2 on the year with 28 strikeouts.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," McGregor told the Tacoma Chronicle. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
