The exploits of first baseman Anastasio Estrada, who is tied for 10th in the SAA in total bases with 68, helped the Squirrel Hill Pierogis defeat the Ottawa Fat Cats, 4-2. Estrada went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Dave Joseph, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Martin Lumley got the save, the 8th for him this season.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Pierogis grabbed the lead when Estrada hit his 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Chandler Lester made it 4-1, Squirrel Hill.
Ottawa manager Jorge Carranza said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Squirrel Hill, with the win, is 11-24.
