The Providence Pilgrims used an offensive barrage to beat the Marquette Miners, 10-2, at Field of Plenty. Bill Parker led the way, going 3-for-4 for Providence. The Pilgrims, at 13-18, sit in 6th place in the Silver AA.

With Providence leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Parker hit a fastball from Mike Schmitt for a 2-run triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Pilgrims ahead, 4-0.

Marquette manager Adrián Hernández called the blowout loss "a real stinker."
