Hall Hits for Cycle Against Chesapeake
|
In an outing that will go down in the annals of baseball history, Marquette first baseman Doug Hall hit for the cycle today as the Miners marched to victory over the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 8-2.
Hall collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, including 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run. He added 6 RBI and 2 runs scored to help Marquette take the Marquette Stadium contest.
"It was the last thing on my mind, really," Hall said. "I'm out there trying to get a blooper or a walk or whatever might help the team. Even if I had wanted to, hitting for the cycle is probably as much about luck as about skill anyway."
Doug Hall grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Sergio Navarro in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 8th.
A look at his current stats shows Hall with a .279 average, 3 home runs, 16 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has played in 28 games.
