Turbeaus Suffer 2-0 Loss to Fur Traders
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Tacoma Fur Traders and the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, pitcher Danny Pierce was the difference between victory and defeat. The Tacoma right-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Fur Traders win. Pierce picked up the win for Tacoma, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Bill Joseph earned save number 8 this season.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Mason Hatcher didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Gulf Coast trailing 2-0, Hatcher retired Kevin Vega to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Hatcher, with a wink.
The 4th-place Fur Traders improved to 15-12.
