Acevedo has 3 hits today to Power Cangrejos Fantasmas Offense

The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas topped the Squirrel Hill Pierogis by the score of 4-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Yerson Acevedo. Acevedo went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Cangrejos Fantasmas on the day. Jesús Sánchez got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 1. José Souza sewed up the save, his 2nd.
With Chesapeake leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Acevedo hit a changeup from David White for a solo home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Cangrejos Fantasmas ahead, 3-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Squirrel Hill skipper Carlos Soto, "and it cost us."
The Pierogis, now 5-13, continue their sluggish start.
