Chesapeake wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Jesús Sánchez, falling to the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 4-3. Sánchez threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Ft. Polk South reliever Edgardo Rivera picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Michael Sawyer absorbed the loss. Ft. Polk South is now 2-4.
Teddy Perkins made it 4-3 in favor of Ft. Polk South when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the ninth. The Thunder Hawks went on to win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Chesapeake manager Jorge Baca said following the tough loss.
