|
Behind an impressive start by Ramiro Ramírez, Olympia beat Virginia Beach, 5-0. In 6.1 innings, Ramírez surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. The third-place Ogres have won 6 in a row.
Olympia used a well-timed hit by Ralph MacPherson to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Ogres ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," MacPherson told the Olympia Daily.
