Sixshooters Sneak By Guinea Pigs, 6-5
|
Gwinnett got a terrific performance from pitcher Roger Marshall, but it wasn't enough to beat the Westwood Sixshooters. Westwood won the Experimental Stadium contest, 6-5. Marshall threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Westwood reliever Luke Edgar picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Larry Pulsifer shouldered the loss. The 6th-place Sixshooters raised their record to 44-45.
Westwood used a timely hit from Juan Medina to get the win. The center fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sixshooters ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Medina said.
