Guinea Pigs Get Close Win Over Sixshooters, 2-1
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs beat the Westwood Sixshooters, 2-1. Gwinnett pitcher and Alhambra, California, native Elliot Wallace led the way. Marshall Dooley picked up the win in relief for Gwinnett, while Pepe Aguilar took the loss. Larry Pulsifer was credited with the save for Gwinnett, his 18th of the season.

Gwinnett took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Arturo Piña hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Guinea Pigs fans to their feet.

"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Ricardo Vásquez.

Gwinnett is now riding a 3-game win streak.
