Ghosts Deal Guinea Pigs 3-2 Defeat
|
Gwinnett got a valiant performance from pitcher Brody Avery, but it wasn't enough to beat the Casper Ghosts. Casper won the game, 3-2. Avery threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Reliever Tom Evans picked up the win. His record improves to 7-3. Larry Pulsifer took the loss. With the win, Casper raised its record to 54-31.
Casper used the clutch hitting of Allen Davis to capture the win. The catcher drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Ghosts ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Davis. "And not try to do too much."
