Ghosts Defeat Dolphins, 2-1

The Casper Ghosts eked out a 2-1 win versus the Pine Island Dolphins at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Nobody did more than pitcher Nathan Mitchell. He was terrific. In 7.1 innings, Mitchell surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The Ghosts, at 51-27, lead by one game in their division.
The Ghosts got an important contribution from right fielder Ángel Montoya, who in the top of the fourth punched a 1-1 cutter into right-center for a solo home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Ghosts ahead, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Casper manager Chet Delaney said.
