Mariachis Rally to Eke Out Win

There was no shortage of dramatics at Mariachi Band Shell.
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis topped the Pine Island Dolphins, 4-3, in M3L Double A action at Mariachi Band Shell. The game was highlighted by the performance of Nuevo Mexico pitcher Marc Clemow. Nuevo Mexico reliever Keith Medina picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Ijsbert Pelikaan absorbed the loss.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the tenth, Bennett Walker had a chance to be the hero. Pine Island pitcher Ijsbert Pelikaan had other ideas. But with two outs, Walker hit a run-scoring single. The Mariachis had themselves a dramatic win.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Steve Bryan, the Nuevo Mexico skipper.
Today's win puts Nuevo Mexico at 44-27, while Pine Island falls to 36-35.
