The Richland Rails eked out a 2-1 win versus the Virginia Beach Whales at Rails Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Arthur Corrigan. He was terrific. Corrigan picked up the win for Richland, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-5. The win puts Richland at 34-26 this season.

Ken Woods went 1 for 3 for Richland. In the bottom of the fifth, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Woods delivered for the Rails. His run-scoring ground out put Richland on top, 2-1.

In comments to the Richland Observer, Corrigan insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
