Starting pitcher Giustino Cotichini was a major factor in the 3-2 Barton Springs Blues triumph over the Virginia Beach Whales. In 7.1 innings, Cotichini surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. José Vargas earned the save for Barton Springs, his 6th.
Eric Duncan, who is tied for 7th in the 3AA in bases on balls with 26, helped out the Barton Springs cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman drew 2 walk.
