Rails Snag 4-3 Win
|
Richland picked up a win at The Ogre Den, bumping off the Olympia Ogres, 4-3. Pitcher Elroy Mastenbroek was a major reason the Rails emerged victorious. The win belongs to Karsten Lips in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Roberto Saldaña took the loss for Olympia. The 11th-place Rails have a record of 9-15.
Richland used a timely hit from Pepe González to get the win. The designated hitter delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rails on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was huge.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Richland skipper Eduardo Hernández. "I can't complain."
