Gwinnett Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
It was pandemonium at Experimental Stadium after an exciting walk-off win.

The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs defeated the Virginia Beach Whales, 6-5. Doing his part was left fielder Michael Mitchell, who hit 2 home runs. Pavlov Gvozdev, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings.

The Guinea Pigs were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when second baseman Dale Wallace turned a 2-2 fastball from Éric Lemaire into a 2-run single. The walk-off single electrified the Experimental Stadium denizens and sent the Guinea Pigs home with a thrilling 6-5 win.

"This place was rocking at the end," Wallace said.

The 6th-place Guinea Pigs have won 5 in a row.
