Rails Cut Down Guinea Pigs, 4-3
|
Richland picked up a win at Rails Ballpark, toppling the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 4-3. Pitcher James Ellison was one of the reasons the Rails triumphed. The save went to Martín Cedeño, number 3 for him. Richland is now 6-12.
With runs few and far between, the Rails had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Richland came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when designated hitter Anthony Potter delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Ji-chor Ho and made the score 2-1, Rails. Potter went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Richland skipper Eduardo Hernández. "I can't complain."
