Richland got a valiant performance from pitcher Arthur Corrigan, but it wasn't enough to beat the Barton Springs Blues. Barton Springs won the game, 3-1. Corrigan threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Fernando Rivera, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 2-0. José Vargas sewed up the save, his 2nd.
Barton Springs designated hitter Homer Green contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Blues ahead, 2-0.
"Tough loss," said Richland manager Eduardo Hernández. "But we'll learn from it."
The win puts Barton Springs at 8-7.
