Condor Fell Bowties, 6-4
|
Good production from first baseman Jim Hanson helped the Santa Catalina Condor topple the Buckhead Bowties, 6-4. Hanson was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Condor. The winning pitcher was Jack Peters. He tossed 92 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The 7th-place Condor are now 47-48, the Bowties 32-63.
Hanson contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Santa Catalina in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-1, Hanson took a cutter from Cole Brown and stroked the home run to left. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Condor to leap in front, 4-2.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Santa Catalina manager Rose Rubo.
