Northern Lions BC Deal Battery 2-1 Loss
|
Luis Gutiérrez pitched well, but the Charleston Battery still lost the game, falling 2-1 to the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at Charleston Armory. Andrew Shoemaker got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 6 innings. Thunder Bay now sits at 44-50, while Charleston falls to 47-47.
Thunder Bay used the clutch hitting of Shintaro Hagi to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Northern Lions BC ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Hagi.
