Lakers Defeat Condor, 3-1

Tommaso Cugnoni could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Santa Catalina Condor lost, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Echo Park Lakers at LA Forum. Echo Park pitcher Javier Rúbio got the win. He's now 3-1. Tommaso Cugnoni was tagged with the loss. Sun-ho Yang closed the door for Echo Park, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Tim Thomas went 1 for 3. He scored 2 times for Echo Park. In the bottom of the sixth, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Thomas delivered for the Lakers. His run-scoring ground out put Echo Park on top, 2-1.
"This was a tough loss," said Santa Catalina manager Rose Rubo. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
The 4th-place Lakers have a record of 48-39.
