Bowties Topple Northern Lions BC, 8-4, as Eiriz Shines
The 8-4 Buckhead win over Thunder Bay was due largely to José Eiriz. The Bowties right fielder was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Buckhead pitcher Walt Gould got the win, upping his record to 3-2. José Cruz got the loss. Armando Trujillo locked down his 13th save.

Buckhead got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Sung-jae Hong. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bowties ahead, 6-4. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Hong.

Buckhead, with the win, climbs to 26-60.
