Flamingos Win at Dayton, 4-3
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos did just enough to sneak past the Dayton Dirty Reds, 4-3, at Lang Park. Las Vegas pitcher Nelson McNeil, in particular, had a standout performance. Jon Phillips picked up the save for Las Vegas, his 8th of the year. Las Vegas currently is in 5th place in the Third League at 30-29.
Las Vegas used the bat of David Parker to capture the win. The center fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Flamingos ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Las Vegas manager Tom Williams.
