|
Echo Park had no answer for Dayton Dirty Reds starter Max van Capelleveen, who flummoxed Lakers hitters as the Dirty Reds cruised to victory, 6-1. van Capelleveen, the winner, moves to 4-6. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 4 walks. Elias Visscher earned the save, his 1st, for the Dirty Reds.
Dayton took a 6-1 lead on Lee Montgomery's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Montgomery hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Echo Park pitcher Etana Nara visibly frustrated.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Montgomery told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
The Dirty Reds now have a record of 21-32.
