Buckhead picked up a win at 5 Paces Park, bumping off the Echo Park Lakers, 4-3. Pitcher Matt Howe was a major reason the Bowties emerged victorious. Howe, now 2-6, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Buckhead goes to 16-28, Echo Park to 29-15.

Also having an impact was second baseman Miguel Vargas, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth for Buckhead. For the game, Vargas went 1 for 4.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Vargas told the Buckhead Times.
