Northern Lions BC Rally to Eke Out Win
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC overcame a good performance by Charleston right fielder Carlos Velardes to knock off Charleston, 6-5, at Great Northern Field. Velardes went 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 times. Today's win puts Thunder Bay at 17-26, while Charleston falls to 21-22.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Thunder Bay catcher Ricardo Flores, facing James Tucker, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Northern Lions BC the 6-5 win.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Scott Williams, the Thunder Bay manager.
