Farmers Suffer 4-1 Setback
|
The Lancaster Farmers went down to defeat to Arthur Corrigan and his Richland teammates. The final score was 4-1 in favor of the Rails. Corrigan, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Rails have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 3rd win in 12 games.
Richland needed the clutch hitting of Millard Blanchard to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rails on top, 2-1. For the game, Blanchard had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
