Pride Deal Thunderbirds 3-0 Defeat
|
The Hamilton Thunderbirds and Hartford Pride were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Getting a good performance from second baseman Ray Reed, the Hartford Pride defeated the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 3-0. Reed went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Pride. Hartford starter Juan Mermea was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 5-8. Matt Jenkins, credited with the save, is now 10 for 10 in save opportunities.
Reed had a key at-bat for Hartford early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Hartford an early 2-0 lead.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Roy Clay. "That was the problem."
Hartford is now riding a 3-game win streak.
