7-3 Loss Deepens Ellenburg Funk
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg beat the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 7-3, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Mike McKinney, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ed Pearce, the winner, improved to 9-9. He held the Fighting Dachshunds to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 4. Ellenburg has now lost 6 in a row.

Port Huron took a 6-1 lead on McKinney's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Mario Ledezma in the top of the sixth, propelled Port Huron to the win.

"Enjoyed this one," McKinney told the Port Huron News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
