Foreman Leads Monsters to 3-1 Win Over Humpbacks
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Timber Hawks Ballpark. But Bartolo Foreman conjured up just enough offense to carry the Monsters past the Alaskan Humpbacks, 3-1. Foreman was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Bill Bray earned the win to go to 4-1. He allowed 1 run on 1 hits, with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. Monongahela is now 44-40, while Alaskan is 52-32.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Foreman hit a solo home run. It propelled the Monsters into the lead, 1-0.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Foreman said.
