Thunderbirds Edge Past Fighting Dachshunds, 8-7

The Hamilton Thunderbirds outlasted Steve Dickinson and the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 8-7. Dickinson was impressive in the loss. The Ellenburg first baseman was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Reliever Hong-bo Liu picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Jong-yun Chong took the loss. After today's action, Hamilton sits at 38-45, while Ellenburg falls to 32-51.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Jonathan Price came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Ellenburg pitcher Jong-yun Chong, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Hamilton on top, 8-7.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Price.
