Alaskan Hot Streak Continues with 6-3 Win
|
With right fielder José Mondragon leading the charge, the Alaskan Humpbacks defeated the Kansas Rainbeaus, 6-3, at Wichita Field. Mondragon, who is rated as the 12th best prospect by BNN, went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Robert Erickson recorded the save, his 22nd. Alaskan has a 9-game win streak, while Kansas has lost 3 in a row.
Alaskan used the clutch hitting of Patrick Gibbard to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Humpbacks the lead, 3-2. For the game, Gibbard had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We did a lot of things right," said Gibbard.
