Fighting Dachshunds Earn 3-2 Road Win Over Norfolk
|
Ellenburg picked up a win at Norfolk Field, bumping off the Norfolk Pajaritos, 3-2. Pitcher George Gross was a major reason the Fighting Dachshunds emerged victorious. Ikaaka Iokia closed the door for Ellenburg, picking up his 9th save of the year. The win has Ellenburg at 24-37.
Ellenburg used a well-timed hit by Michael Young to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Fighting Dachshunds ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
After the game, Ellenburg manager Marvin Hayes applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
