Fighting Dachshunds Dealt 5-4 Home Loss
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg did just enough to secure a victory over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 5-4, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Nobody did more than pitcher Mike Thornton. Gil Childers finished the game for Port Huron and earned his 11th save. The Blitzkrieg raised their record to 14-32.

Port Huron used the timely hitting of Zachary Spilsbury to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blitzkrieg on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Thornton.
