Dickinson hits 2 home runs in Fighting Dachshunds Win
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds got the win.
A 4-RBI performance from the 25-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Dickinson helped the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds beat the Alaskan Humpbacks, 4-2. Mario Ledezma, now 2-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 1.
Dickinson had a timely hit for Ellenburg in the bottom of the eighth. With Alaskan trailing 2-1, he turned a 0-2 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 4-2, Ellenburg.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Ellenburg manager Marvin Hayes. "It's usually not just one thing."
The 4th-place Humpbacks have lost 5 consecutive games.
