The Hamilton Thunderbirds picked up a win at Coyote Wildlife Refuge, knocking off the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 5-1. Starting pitcher Felipe Hernández was an essential part of his team's success. Hernández went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 2-4. Hamilton is now 15-20, Ellenburg 15-20.

With runs few and far between, the Thunderbirds had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Hamilton came in the bottom of the second inning, when center fielder Lorenzo Morales delivered a 2-run single.
