The Port Huron Blitzkrieg got a stellar performance from pitcher Gustavo Rivera, who handcuffed the Monongahela offense en route to a win, 2-0, at Port Huron Park. Gil Childers closed the door for Port Huron, picking up his 6th save of the year. Port Huron, with the win, sits at 7-15.
The outcome was still in doubt in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Monongahela trailing 2-0, Gil Childers needed to get a big out. On a first pitch splitter, Ramón Marino grounded out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
