Blitzkrieg Lose Again, 5-2, to Thunderbirds
The Hamilton Thunderbirds got a stellar performance from pitcher Vernon Álvarez, who handcuffed the Port Huron offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The winning pitcher was Álvarez, now 2-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. The win moves Hamilton to a record of 9-8.

Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Coyote Wildlife Refuge seemed to enjoy watching the USSL Triple A action.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Álvarez, "and then get after it again."
