Fighting Dachshunds Clip Monsters, 5-4
|
Ernest Crane was a major contributor to the 5-4 Ellenburg win over Monongahela. The Fighting Dachshunds center fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Monsters fall to 7-9 and continue their uneven start to the 2055 season.
Ellenburg won the game in the bottom of the 17th inning. With no outs and David Cuevas on the mound for Monongahela, designated hitter Eric Heath hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Fighting Dachshunds fans to their feet.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Marvin Hayes.
