Norfolk Downs Sunset District, 4-1
|
Norfolk starter Dan Watson put a stranglehold on the Sunset District offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Pajaritos to a 4-1 win. Watson got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Watson allowed 1 run. Norfolk sits at 4-6.
Norfolk used a well-timed hit by Phil Parks to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Pajaritos ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Parks told the Norfolk Gazette.
