Thunderbirds Raise Rally Flag, Beat Sunset District, 4-3
|
The Hamilton Thunderbirds topped the Sunset District Fog, 4-3, in USSL Triple A action at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The game was highlighted by the performance of Hamilton pitcher Raúl Martínez. Reliever Jurgen Helmer picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Félix López took the loss. The loss drops Sunset District to 6-3.
Hamilton won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With no outs and Félix López on the mound for Sunset District, pinch hitter Victor Porter hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Thunderbirds fans to their feet.
"This place was rockin'," Porter said.
