Lynx Top Drummers to Even Record
|
Calgary starter Roberto Esparza put a stranglehold on the Tortolita offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Lynx to a 4-1 win. Esparza went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-2. Dionísio Zagallo was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
Miguel Zarate made an early impact for Calgary when he stroked his 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came with two out in the bottom of the first, put the Lynx on top, 3-0.
"I like what I saw today," said Calgary manager Steve Duncan, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The win puts Calgary at 48-48 this season.
